Slept In

I've mentioned before that I wake up to CDs on my stereo now -- this morning's selection was Death Cab for Cutie's We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes. What's weird is that the first song I remember hearing when I woke up was 405. Otherwise known as track five.

Sleeping through four songs - that's a new record (I think that's a sign that I need more sleep).

So that got me thinking... Tell me about your mornings. How you wake up?

I wake up to the godawful din of my mobile phone playing a crappy midi version of The White Stripes Seven Nation Army. It's enough to rattle me from my sleep, but i usually end up sleeping it several times before i actually leave the bed.

Nova 937 with Nathan and Nat. The alarm clock is right near my head because if it was near Tony's head we'd sleep through it. We usually wake up to some form of upbeat pop/rock.

Two Alarm Clocks, on opposite sides of my bed, both with slightly different kinds of annoying beeps, and the ring times set about 4 minutes apart, the scary thing is i have to set them at least 30 minutes ahead of when i need to get up

i'm thinking about getting a third clock and placing it, out of reach, at the end of my bed

It's gotta be the annoying alarm clock buzz. Although I sleep light enough in the morning to be occasionally woken up by the electric blanket kicking on, the buzz is the only thing that will stop me from going back to sleep.

(although currently I'm using the iPod alarm which is particularly pathetic)

Radio alarm, set for the hour, so we hear the news first. JJJ at the moment, but I really need to change that, and maybe tune into RRR.

Some days I jump out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off and go for a walk, others I lie prone for the hour that the alarm is on, and then when it goes quiet one of us switches on the real radio next to the bed.

Does that mean I'm a half-morning person?
