A very sexy excuse

I (heart) iPod

Yeah I've been quiet lately but there's a good reason: I've got a new toy! I finally got my 20gig iPod a couple of weeks ago and damn if it ain't the coolest little gadget. Hell, it even made washing my car yesterday afternoon kinda fun. It's from Apple, it looks amazing and it's got all my CDs on it. I think I'm in love.

I'm one of those freaks who listens to a couple of songs off a CD then switches to another album for a couple of songs, until I get bored or run out of CDs. iPod, combined with the smart playlists I've just started messing with in iTunes should make my listening habits get pretty interesting.

At the moment I'm listening to my Highly Rated but Rarely Heard playlist, which goes a little like this: Songs where my rating is greater than 2 stars, that haven't been played in the last 3 days and -- because I'm picky when it comes to really crap quality MP3s through earphones -- bitrate is greater than 130kbps. It's limited to 100 songs with live update on, so it's constantly dumping the songs I've listened to and adding on new ones.

Actually I got it by redeeming all my credit card points, about three years' worth all up I think. So, when you look at how much I actually spent to get it, it's stupidly expensive and free at the same time :]

lucky! though they are coming out with "mini" ipods that are supposed to be a bit cheaper... still can't afford one though.

The iPod is definately a great investment. I have the 10gb model. But I really want one of those pink iPod mini's.

I chose to stay out of the iPod route and got myself an MD player instead. One of those new ones from Sony where you can play mp3s and download between pc and md-player really quickly.... Does the trick for me! Just ordered a Si-Link FM Transmitter (from thinkgeek in the usa), enabling the transfer of the music via fm signals to the radio player in my car.....
