it's all about the skirt
I'm not sure if it's common knowledge, but I heard a long time ago that when viewed from above, Perth's QV1 office tower is supposedly modelled on Marilyn Monroe's lips. I can't find any photos on the web to support this, but take my word for it.
Driving through the city last week with one of the guys from work, I found out another weird one. Andy tells me that the St George's Tce entrance is influenced by that scene with the dress.
And once the thought's in your head, it's disturbing. Up close it's not too noticable, but from a distance it's creepy.
Update: Check the comments for the saucy lips illustration...

In that case, you'll want to have a chat to the good Mr Harry Seidler and Associates.

That's the name of the guy.
And, lifted straight from their site, here's the floorplan pic that perfectly illustrates the lip theory:
Also stumbled across in google search results: QV1 [was an] 'odd shape' because it was not allowed to interfere with the sight lines from the parliamentary precinct. (Urban Heritage)

That's what we're here for. Incidentally, alternate title: does this make me a legs man?

"The 40 storey tower is shaped to maximise the panoramic views toward the Swan River for most of the 1,600 m2 typical floors."
Or so they say.

An obsessed fan's design perhaps.

I always thought that QV1 looked like a set of smackeroos. Cool!

I was told that it was modeled on her BUM, and the lips part of her is represented by the bright red, lip-like sculpture out the front.
